Sometimes I feel like a soccer mom....

... a soccer mom with kids who are on one of those traveling teams. My car is almost 2 years old and I have 42,000 miles on it so far (car only had <20 miles on it when I got it). Luckily I have a Prius so the mileage is great. We do drive it to work almost everyday, but that is only 8 miles. I just started trialing in March of this year, so I'm sure that the mileage will only get higher even faster now. This weekend was especially crazy:

Friday - took Nari out to this new agility place (well, new to us!) to work on contacts (drive was 35 minutes each way).

Saturday - brought Nari along with me to check out the 'local' UKC show that will be the site of the breed specialty next April (drive was 55 minutes each way). We got to meet another Klee Kai, unfortunately Nari was being a little brat because she was going all crazy because she was at a show. That girl is INSANE sometimes, but I adore her. Here she is laying around at the show site.

She still looks nice and clean in this picture. Shortly after, she found some poop to roll around in and she had poop smeared across the side of her face! Here are all the girls relaxing and napping Saturday afternoon:

Sunday - started with Nari's agility lesson (1 hour drive each way) from 11 am until 12:15 pm. Got home around 1:20 pm. Then I had to drive Starbuck down to Chattanooga at 3 pm (drive was 2 hours each way). So that was roughly 6 hours driving just on Sunday! Luckily I rarely have to drive that much in one day, unless it's for an agility trial.  After all of that driving, Aaron made me steak and veggies. The girls really wanted that steak so they thought if they stared at that steak they could have some:

Eventually, Starbuck and Alpha gave up but Nari kept staring until I finished. I did cave in and give them each a tiny piece when I was finished, so I guess Nari won after all!

WOW! I'm exhausted from this weekend. The great news is that the Chattanooga Chomp had a vote on Starbuck on Sunday and she's in the club now! Not sure when she'll start competing, probably won't be for a while because she still needs to work on her box and focus skills. But I think she's getting closer at least.

Now... back to work and I have WAY too much to do at work!

The crazy girls go to the vet

The girls were all due for their kennel cough boosters this week. So... I had to take them all in by myself. I had two of the girls ride in the crate and Nari got to ride in the passenger seat with her doggie seatbelt. Then, I threw them all into the crate, stuck the crate on a rolling board and pulled them in. It was much easier to handle them that way and they all looked pretty cute in their cage.

I didn't take any recent pictures, so here are some old ones. Look at Alpha's vicious teeth!! And that picture is followed by one of her silly grins.

Okay, I've posted this picture of Nari before with her Steffi hair, but it's just so cute I wanted to post it again.

And here is Nari laying down for a nap - I love her eyes.

Here is one of Starbuck at agility and her modeling her little life jacket. She looks quite adorable in that jacket.

And robots beware - Alpha is watching you!!

Walking

I had a crummy day at work today so I decided to make a short video of the girls walk. Here they are having fun on the greenway in our neighborhood:

Pictures of a lazy weekend

Let's see, Aaron was out of town this weekend. I suddenly decided that I hated my hair because it's curly and boring so I cut it all off. This happens about every three years or so. Then I get sick of it being short and spend the next three years growing it out again. But this gave me a chance to remember what I look like with straight hair. The girls don't care what I look like, all they want are kisses:

I got another little house bed thingy for the dogs - Starbuck LOVES these things. Whenever she sees it she curls herself into the smallest ball inside of it and likes to peak out:

She also spent some quality laying around the house time this weekend:

And then there's Nari. This girl is crazy, she always has to be doing something and she gets a happy grin when she's been running around. We didn't go to agility this Sunday and it drove her nuts so she did laps on all of the furniture. I'm so not kidding, I should try to get video of it someday. She always pulls her ears back and makes the weirdest faces when I'm trying to take her picture:

And then she was in her bed waving her paws at me because she was so bored.

Alpha has decided that she loves to do what her big sisters are doing. So she splits her time because laying around with Starbuck and bouncing off the furniture with Nari. Oh yeah, and being super naughty by stealing toys and ripping out their squeakers. And also running around kitties in a circle while barking at them. Just look at her - she is saving up all of her naughtiness!

Finally got in an agility practice

There was finally a brief break in the rain so we were able to get a short practice in today. Aaron came along and took a couple of pictures and videos.

Here is a video of Starbuck and Nari at practice today:

Starbuck and Alpha got to chill in the x-pen - Alpha is like a little pogo stick in there!! We make sure she doesn't do it that much but when she's in the x-pen she just wants to get out and run around the field.

Alpha has been learning a bunch of tricks lately. Today I was working on training Alpha to hide her face behind her paw. I've been using a piece of tape on her forehead to swipe at and then click when she does it. So I made Aaron take a picture of her silly tapehead.

Starbuck at the Howl-O-Ween pet parade

I volunteered to take Starbuck to the Howl-O-Ween pet parade event in Loundon County today to represent our therapy dog organization, H.A.B.I.T. Starbuck was super excited because she got to meet new people and dogs. And her favorite part was the peanut butter licking contest - she took second place and the other H.A.B.I.T. dog took first! There was a photographer there so hopefully I can get some pictures of the contest. Here are some pictures from the event:

Starbuck is in jail!

They have these weird kennels at flyball - the lower half is paneling and the upper half is bars. While Starbuck isn't working, I put her in a kennel and it looks like she is in jail. Here she is peaking out of jail:

She looks pretty happy in there!
