It was pretty rough trial for us because it was way past Nari's bed time so she was a little slower than usual. The lighting was also awkward as there were a lot of shadows on the field and the contacts were black so they were a little hard to see. The only time Nari really seemed to get distracted was during her Weavers run on Saturday morning - it was 2 am and she was the last dog so there were headlights moving throughout the field making the weaves difficult to see. But she got her Q and also managed to make Elite time on Touch and Go so I was quite proud of how hard she worked!!
Here is a picture of her at 1:45 am right before her Weavers run on Saturday morning:
On Saturday afternoon we went hiking at Warriors' Path State Park in Kingsport, TN - Nari LOVES hiking:
Everyone was super nice at the trial and was there to have fun so it was great and laid back. It was probably more than half Novice people and I guess several people from AKC were there to try out NADAC. The supervising judge LOVED Nari and was telling everyone during the walk through how awesome she was. He couldn't believe how well she was doing considering she wasn't even 2 years old yet. I also had several people come up and tell us how much they enjoyed watching our runs.
Glad you enjoyed your first NADAC trial, and huge congrats on all the Q's! I have a "facebook friend" that said she saw a Klee Kai at her trial in TN over the weekend, so I immediately had to check your blog to see if it was you. :o) She loved Nari! These dogs do tend to get noticed at trials!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karissa!! We had so much fun this weekend and all the NADAC people and judges were so nice. It does make it easier to meet new people at trials if you have an AKK :)
